Welcome

WebHey, Tweeps – Thanks for dropping by. My name’s Eliz and I have a daughter named Tink. I’m her mom. My husband is the owner of a fledgling restaurant, which is really great because we had grown way too comfortable with stability and solvency. I’m a freelance writer and former newspaper editor. I left a fantastic job and life in New York to move to South Carolina, where I traded working in a beloved industry (and a generous paycheck) for uncertainty, anxiety and applewood-smoked bacon. Yeah, life’s a tradeoff.

You can read some of my professional work here. I’m also a food blogger. You can read about my obsession with the love apple and sundry stone fruit here.

I host #organizechat on Twitter from 9 to 10 p.m. ET Sunday, where everyone from parents to independent workers (and the overlap that is most of us) discuss how to finally, once and for all, get it together fortheloveofallthatisholy. Organizational advice and inspiration for your work, home, time, fitness efforts, meal planning, family and sanity.

If you’d like to read about the arts, entertainment, fashion, style, parenting, productivity, pop culture, being the wife of a chef, being the mother to a funny 4-year-old and how to navigate preschool birthday parties when you’ve got both the biggest ass and the biggest mouth in the room, then hang out here a while. I’d offer you some sweet tea but I’m off white sugar at the moment. (Come back later when my willpower has cracked.)

Thanks,
Eliz
